- 6 Medjool dates, pitted
- 1 (12-ounce) bag cranberries, rinsed and drained
- 1 cup frozen dark sweet cherries
- 1 Tbsp orange zest
- 1 cinnamon stick
- ¼ tsp ground ginger
- ¼ tsp nutmeg
- ¼ tsp allspice
- 1 cup orange juice

- 1. Soak the dates in hot water until softened, about 1 hour.
- 2. In a large saucepan over medium heat, add the cranberries, dark cherries, orange zest, and spices.
- 3. Drain the soaked dates and add to a blender with orange juice. Process until smooth, and pour blend into the saucepan.
- 4. Adjust the heat to medium-high until the cranberries begin to pop, then reduce to a slow simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 5. Remove from heat and allow to cool. The sauce will thicken as it cools.
- 6. Adjust seasoning to taste. For a sweeter sauce, add a few more cherries or blend another date.
