T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies

You may already know that Tom Campbell, MD took the helm as foundation director on July 1, 2013. If that wasn’t enough excitement for one month-for three spectacular days in July, the entire T. Colin Campbell Foundation team met for an action packed, informative exchange of ideas and forward planning.

Instructors were thrilled to continue developing as content experts, while Tom and his iconic father, T. Colin Campbell, shared the stage and led a scientific article review; this is known in some medical schools as a Journal Club, a brilliant form of continuing education we have embraced. Each also gave outstanding presentations on cutting edge topics. Instructors were then treated to in-depth Q&A discussions on scientifically technical and challenging questions faced in their jobs. This is what makes us unique.

The TCCF team paid tribute to our Foundation’s roots, honored our present, and became positively motivated about our stimulating future. We discussed a new name for the Foundation, a more progressive website, updated course ideas and formats, as well as ways to create community, including greater involvement of graduates and instructors. In addition, Dr. Bruce Monger, PhD spoke on the impact of meat production on the ocean. The team also engaged in personality and leadership style activities led by our friends at Cornell, and so much more. Indeed there is a fresh wind blowing.

Attendees dined on some of Ithaca’s finest, sumptuous whole-food, plant-based meals catered by Macro Mamas. Michael Casper (http://www.caspersfarm.com) hosted an incredible reception and lovely evening for all to remember as well.

As we rethink the science of nutrition, we thank you for being a part of the WHOLE picture. As you can see we are evolving and positively look forward to maintaining and growing your professional friendship along the way.
